Personal Opinion about the story
The story of the Life of Pi is a truly remarkable story that is both
unbelievable and shocking at the same time. This unique story really captivates readers. The author did an exquisite job in
telling and explaining each of the animals and characters in full detail-- its habits, appearance, and its whole persona. His writing is so unique that according to one critic “…he wants you to
read as if, like a perfect snowflake, no other book had ever had this form…”—National Post.
Personally, the book did not really intrigue me that much; the beginning was dull and boring. For me it was because
the author had such an elaborate mind, that he would describe every detail (as said above).I’m not saying that it’s
a bad thing; it’s exactly the opposite. The evidence is clear and visible; the book reviews that this particular book
has attained are more than enough evidence to see that this book is worth spending on time to read.

But as the story
went on it got interesting—the sinking of the ship and Richard Parker and Pi Patel were the only two that have survived.
Questions arose, questions such as will they survived? Is Pi’s family still alive, what happened to them? Will Pi get
eaten by Richard Parker just as the Hyena did? If Pi was to survive and Richard Parker was to die, how would Pi survive the
loneliness in the ocean? Questions like these are what made the story interesting. We could also say that the beginning was
boring, simply because it was the beginning and it was just to set up the whole story. The interesting part of a story is
always the climax or it could also be the middle of the story. Towards the ending of the story was where it really got interesting,
the surprised that the Hyena was the cook, the Zebra was a sailor, the Orangutan was Pi’s mother and Richard Parker
was Pi, it was really a surprised towards the readers. And the shock that comes with it, the murder of Pi’s mother.
Life of Pi was truly created by a person with and excellent and creative imagination.
This book is truly worth being one of the best seller books around.
